it looks arcadey and shit.
there's no bike damage, and it looks like yet again you can ride into other people and just 'bounce' off them, i hope it's like sbk08 which has alot of different modes where you can fiddle with the TC and how realistic you want it, in that video the bike look glued to the track, no twitchyness or even lifting the back wheel under heavy braking.

hope i'm wrong

MotoGP 2007 was a BIG let down on PC.

Hopefully 2008 will be better. I did give the SBK 08 a try but on easy skill levels it was too easy and well on hard it was too hard.

Couldn't get along with it Thumbs Up

I did a little research on it last night. It's made my the same developer that made Superbike Riding challenge for PS2(milestone). I knew I'd seen the way the bikes reacted somewhere before when I saw a clip of it.

Lots of people like Superbike Riding challenge. I personally found it a load of wank and went back to Riding Spirits.

I for one won't be getting it.

Bought it today Thumbs Up

Only been playing it for a few hours, but it seems very promising.

The Career mode is good, starting out on official 125's, and the racing is addictive.

Unlike SBK2008 etc, overtaking isn't all that easy! As I'm a bike game addict I started on Simulation handling and the hardest difficulty. Managed a 12th in my first 125 race, and it's left me wanting more, because you actually race other bike's, yours isn't super fast from the start. The physics are really good and it takes a steady hand to not make yourself highside. Crashes seem pretty realistic, but could be better IMO.

If you're into setting up the bike lots, walk away now. From what I have seen, you can only choose your tyre compound, suspension, turning speed, and the gear ratio, and even this is basic. I will let you know if I find 'advanced' settings. I find it good because I'm no race tech, and have no idea how to professionally set up a bike (anyone with SBK2008 will know what I mean)

I like the graphics, have enough detail for my liking. The lighting at the night race (Qatar) is superb, and passed my expectations!

Erm...that's about it for now!

Well i went shopping (ok, me and my dad were doing some christmas shopping but we only got 2 presents for people Very Happy ) and i went into game and saw sbk and moto gp....couldn't decide which one so bought them both Laughing

I haven't really played them enough yet to compare but sbk seems a little more realistic in the way the bikes handle and its quite easy to leave darkies, plus the track engineer etc is quite cool. Also more settings to change on the bike.

Moto gp has the advantage of the career where you start in a crappy 125 team and work your way up, i haven't tried the 'advanced' or 'simulation' mode yet, but in arcade it is very easy to win (i'm on 100 points after 4 races atm Very Happy ) and very forgiving. But i guess for the less hardcore gamer it would benefit them.

If i could only afford to buy one i think i'd go for sbk, but thats me personally because i like the more realisticness of it....but stop being a tight cunt and buy them both Very Happy

Never been overly keen on the previous MotoGP games (on the PS2) - they always seem good and look great, until you then play Tourist Trophy (by the same people as Gran Turismo) which immediately makes them look and feel awful.

I might download a demo of the new MotoGP game if it's up on PSN yet.

Only dragging this up because I was looking for Laptimes of MotoGP 08 to see if I'm any good and this thread came up in Google.

I've got both and prefer MotoGP - but only because of one annoying quirk in SBK08 - I'm playing both on PS3 though.

Basically the front and back brakes on SBK08 are On/Off - i.e. not hard/soft etc so if you do any braking in corners you lowside unless you constantly tap the brakes on and off - this was in the realistic setting though.

If SBK08 fixed that issue it would rock, is great apart from that.

MotoGP has good online play but its getting a bit easy now, I only play on Simulation mode and am struggling to get beat unless I start dicking around and crash.

If SBK didn't have the annoying break issue it'd be great.

Reason I was searching google is because I can now reliably hit 1.24 on Valencia on a normal Repsol Honda so was trying to find out what the quickest anyone had done it in - but so far can't see and the PS3 doesn't seem to have an online leaderboard or anything Confused

I have a motogp game, but the bikes are uncontrollable on my pc (you try to turn left and you end up in a hedge every time - like riding on sludge) but not on anothers pc - same disc, same installation, same settings.

Very odd.

Different Spec PC? Framerate and juddering can cause input issues and jerkyness..

Different Keyboard or Controller? PC games are occasionally quite weird and unpredicatable on different hw or with different OS configs.
