Do you have to take the fairing off to get at the spark plug? Its damn hard to reach!

Don't worry what yer Mum said - she probably didn't want you to have a bike in the first place. They go as fast as your right hand tells em too. My Gixxer does 172mph, but do I? (well, not often anyway!) Laughing

Let us know how you get on with the throttle slide. Mucho interested as want to do it meeself but am still waiting for the bike to come back from painters. (10ish day to go - whoooo)

Have you done anything else to the RK to derestrict it?

As for 'Anon' and his "just take the tank off" - he has obviously never seen how the RK fairing is all fitted on! It's a bitch ain't it!

Well, best o'luck and do tell all when yer done.

Chris

Yeah, the fairings a bit of a bitch. There wasnt any restrictor in the throttle slide (thought is was too fast to be resticted) The man from the bike shop tells me it has got a restrictor (talking ballshit again, didnt want to have to go to the effort of putting a restrictor in before i bought it!!), but it hits 95mph so ime not complaining. To replace the spark plug just take off 1 side of the fairing lowers, and use an adjustable wrench to take it out. Taking off the other 2 large pieces of upper fairing doesnt help either. I did try using a spark plug socket and and angled head thing but it didnt work.
