Hey everyone...

Just got quoted '£526 with a £500 excess' to get insured on a Cagiva Mito125.. not sure what the excess figure is on about tho does ne1 else know? Confused

In any claim you have to pay the first £500.
The higher the excess the lower the insurance premium, but the less you get in the event of a claim.

It basically means that if you have to make a claim, you'll be liable to pay £500 of the final payout...so if your bike gets nicked/written off (assuming that you have the appropriate cover), and it's valued at £3000, you can only expect to get £2500.

I got quoted £1,450 from another insurance company and this one says £526 how about that eh? Very Happy

I hope you`s dont think thats expensive. I was on the road for 1 year with no claims & the insurance company requoted me for the next year at 5,450.00 euro. (about 4,400.00 sterling). for a NSR125. And the first year was 1,020.00...But thats Ireland 4 u.

whoah.. i thought my first quote was bad but thats just ridiculous!

hmm neway... the 2nd quote I got (from rampdale.co.uk) ..is there any way of seeing if they're telling the truth and are an official insurance company?
