I'm thinking of upgrading my front light to be a bit brighter and possibly getting a slightly blue tinted bulb. I've found these .

What do you think of blue tinted bulbs and also do you think they'll be noticeably brighter? It does say 50% brighter so I'm assuming it'll be noticeable!

Thumbs Up

if you really want more light on the road go for something like the Osram Nightbreaker.

I tend to find the "50% brighter" to be a bit bollocks really. Note it also says "up to" Meaning it could be like 1% brighter, or worse Razz

Only way to get brighter (properly anyways) is go for an HID system or change the ehadlights for somethign else.

Going from the cigarrete lighter headlight the Hornet had to the twin dominators wa sbetter than any lightbulb change. And using the same bulb. Brighter, and more spread on the road Thumbs Up (Using the same bulb)

Some interesting info there, I'm not so fussed as to change the system or headlight altogether. Just noticed recently I could get these for my bike and wondered if they were any good...

One thing I notice on cars with the blue style bulbs is how much more noticeable they are, and if I catch them more out of the corner of my eye then perhaps getting some will make me a tad safer coz drivers may notice me more too!

Osram Nightbreaker or philips XTREMES

Both great for etching retinas in there H1 Main Beam bulbs and very bright for night driving in H7

Main beam Nightbreakers light the motorway up like a runway Thumbs Up

None of these fancy bulbs are particularly worth the money, most just change the colour of the light. If you want to increase light on the road you need either a bigger or better aimed reflector or a bulb with a greater light output. If you want more light, get a higher wattage bulb and upgrade the wiring loom to support it. Or, get a HID kit, though these have mixed result. Alternatively, get some extra lights.
