Replacing front fork oil seals

In your opinion is it better to replace the upper and lower fork bushes when replacing the oil seals due to leakage?

I've heard it's best, but how do you tell if the existing bushes are worn out?

Yes you should replace the bushes or Sickpup will come looking for you, its actually hard to tell from eye that bushes are worn, but you put them side by side to new bushes and the difference is pretty obvious just to the eye.

If you don't 4-6 months you'll have to replace the fork seals again , the worst case of this was on Tom's 929 blade , the seals started to weep after 3 days....

My NTV had its bushes and seals changed a while ago and have lasted nicely. Though strictly speaking the bottom bush doesn't really need to be replaced, but as you've got them open and its a filfty job to do you might as well change them for the sake of £4 a bush.

I'm doing the job for a mate, he has a varadero 125 that needs getting through it's MOT. Is £32 a decent price for oil seals and upper and lower bushes for both legs? I might give sickpup a pm and see if he can beat it.

How long should new seals last for if they've been fitted along with new upper and lower bushes?

Do the bushes need replacing every time the seals are done?

Do the seals need replacing every time you have the forks apart or is it only if you tear them/whatever getting them out? Obviously you'd check them for wear,cracks,splits etc.

I'm just wondering incase he decides to change grade of oil or something afterwards.
