cleaning gloves???

i want to give my gloves a clean, they are alpinestar sp1's, cant find anything on the labels on washing guidelines.

do you think they are ok to bung in the washing machine? being leather and stuff, or hand wash? i dont know.

I never wash my gloves and they are all rank, i hear putting them in the freezer kills the bacteria,

If you get them wet, let them dry naturally or any leather will crack

A dry cleaners should be able to do them properly.
If you do wash them then rub saddle soap or Vaseline into them to condition the leather.

A dry cleaners will charge almost as much as you paid for them as they will clean them & then put the oils back into the skin. I would just clean the outside with leather cleaner & spray the inside with Febreeze or something similar

I didn't say it was cheap! Cost is about £15 for dry cleaning.

funny you should ask this. today i got my lid out to clean the visor up and my sp2 gloves were in it and i wanted to wash them as there is white bits well ment to be white on them. didnt know what to do apart from give them a good wipe down with warm water and saddle soap them up after they had dried.

exactly what i mean, its like wearing the same pair of socks all year round on the bike without changing them, surely you gotta be able to do summin!

im going to try wrap mine in a towl and put em in on a low heat wash or something.
i cant stand the smells anymore.

You could try some of the NikWax products, they do a cleaning gel for leather sponge on wipe off and then use one of their proofing products.

Soak am in Savlon fluid. The antibac will kill the foot rot inside and it wont harm the leather much more than petrol does.
Then air dry.
And apply some Nikwax leather doofer...
