I need some new speakers for my PC as I am sick of being disappointed when the beat drops or the guitars blare and the bass just not being good enough on my basic generic PC speakers.

Would like a set up with two speakers and a sub if possible as thats all I really need! Aslong as the bass is pumping I don't care.

I figure I've had em long enough to warrant a change, going to sell my iPod to fund them so should have around £50 to spend on them, but would also like to get some decent earphones to replace the ones I have at the moment as in-ear earphones piss all over the ones I have at the moment, theres nowt like feeling bass pounding your eardrum on your favourite song!

Any suggestions?

I've got a Microsoft digital sound system that I've been intending to eBay for some time now. Nowt wrong with it, I just moved my main PC to the living room where it's going through my surround system now.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Sound_System_80

I'll see how much it weighs and figure out a postage cost, guessing it'll be around a tenner. If you're interested, make an offer Smile

[edit] Not sure I have the digital driver CD for it - I only ever used it via the soundcard, not the USB. I'm guessing that part won't work under Fista, anyway.

I've got a set of JBL Creature II's that I bought a couple of years ago used every day, still as good as new and they're very base biased speakers - They come in allsorts of colours to suit your taste. Shop around and you can get 'em for 40 or 50 quid.

Apologies for potentially spoiling a sale Shaggy Wink

Got the same as Steve at university they are great and go pretty loud, although the bass can over power the satellite speakers.. but this can be fixed by adjusting the treble and bass to get the balance.

Joe

Logitech S220s from https://www.ebuyer.com/product/129428 do the trick nicely! That'll save you a load of money for some good quality sennheiser or shure earphones. £19 gets you some sennheiser CX300 earphones dropped from £29 and they're very good once you get a decent seal around the ear.

I've got the logitech S220s on my desk and it's plenty loud. You may have to adjust your EQ as a result to take out the bass. Unlike most subs at that price point, this one has an independent bass controller. I'm happy with it... deals with everything from Dragon force to Destiny's child with ease and gets pretty loud - starts losing definition at more than 50% volume i.e. houseparty levels, but for bedroom duties, it's perfect!. RRP is usually £19 from currys

I have some Creative 5.1 jobbies, which obviously isn't what you are looking for. But in 2.1 mode they are absolutely earth shattering. The bass is truly phenomenal. Anything from hardcore right the way to heavy rock, perfect sound every time.

Look for Creative stuff as well as Logitech, all good stuff. Thumbs Up

Cheers for your answers guys.

Any more help is appreciated, and I'll do some research on the speakers you have listed. Used CX-300s before, got them for around £8.00 and they were brilliant, though very quiet now for some reason. Shaggy, read good things about those speakers, I will PM you after my research. Drivers are easy enough to find anyway. Thumbs Up

Looking for in ear headphones if possible.

I've just bought a pair of Creative Gigaworks T-20's.

Excellent speakers. £65.
I bought them on the basis of lots of good reviews on DABS and ebuyer's sites.
