does anyone know the best way to remove vinyl decals?. trying to remove some from petrol tank but its a bitch to get off!

Petrol to rub them off also works if they are really ancient and hair dryer doesn't work, they get thinner and thinner as you rub petrol into them.

Depends how long they've been stuck on , the ones on my Africa twin had been there since 1990 and would not budge.

they're coming off slowly with a hair-dryer.but left with a lot of old glue. i reckon theyve been on since the bike was made ie 1986. Very Happy Thumbs Up

heat the adhesive up with the hairdryer and use your thumb n it'll rub off or you could give the petrol ago, never used petrol myself though.

chemetall ardrox is the stuff you need.
it does EVERYTHING.
i used it to get the decals off the mito plastics. 3 decent coatings of the stuff 1 minute between coats and the decal just rubs right off.

it isnt too great for paint though, but i assume you're removing them for a respray anyway.
