Hi guys Cool

Was thinking about buying a little mini moto for under £100.
I do nothing on my days off, mon/tue.I have the urge to make a little project thing like binge's (not copying ) Laughing .Taking all the parts off and that i will find interesting and could maybe get me a bit more knowledge about the insides off a bike.I no its small but it would be good to learn from.

Is this a good idea or am i just being silly Thumbs Up Mr. Green
Thanks in advance Karma

10 minutes on a mini moto in 1 go and you cant walk for just as long.

bit of a waste... considering parts are cheap as fuck. you wont be making much profit, not a chance (maybe like £10 at most?)better off buying a shitter real bike

You do realise binge's bike is a pitbike, not a minimoto, yes?

If you find someone giving away some minimotos for free (does happen quite a bit with cheap chinese ones) you might be able to make a bit of money, but not a massive amount.
Minimotos are very, very simple so will only teach the very basics.

There's not nearly as much that can be done to a minimoto in comparison to a pitbike, really.

i know were your coming from, i have oftern thought about doing this myself...

As said, buy a cheep 'crapper' bike, i payed £70 for an aprilia rs 50, £300 later its like new! good chance of a few a decent profit aswell.

but the thought of having a a nice little bike for the sake of £50 of ebay mebys? has always seemed like a good idea to me!

you will learn more per £ about engines going down the dump and picking up a broken strimmer/mower for a fiver ... especially if it is a 4-stroke mower ...

after reading around I found this, not too sure if it's true.

How to make your Midi Moto Road Legal...

The following are a list of modifications that are needed in order to satisfy the requirements of an SVA test. These modifications have to be made prior to the test otherwise they will fail you.

You need to have a plate made and fix it to the bike and have the following information engraved on it:
Manufacturers name, engine capacity (49cc), engine power output (2.5kw), Category (A), number of Drive Sprocket teeth (14), Date of manufacture, and a serial number (16 / 17 digits). This plate has to be 60 x 40mm and visible and permanently fixed on the bike.
You will need at least one wing mirror with no sharp edges (2mm profile)
A speedometer that shows MPH not KMH and a light that tells you the lights are on must be fitted.
You need lights back and front, and brake lights – indicators are optional for mopeds, but worth having if you want to survive on the road! If you have indicators they need to be at least 180mm apart.
You must have space for a number plate to be fitted, if you can make a bracket and fit it to the bike prior to the test that should be fine. You also need to have a light to light up the number plate.
The front visor and mudguard have to be 2mm or more in thickness, if not, you need to fit a rubber edge or something to make them more than 2mm.
The exhaust must have the manufacturers name on it, or an approval mark.
You have to have road legal tyres. Road legal tyres means that they must have the maximum weight printed on them and a BS Number (all legal tyres will have this anyway). The tyres can be purchased and fitted relatively easily, but will not be the exact same profile as your existing tyres. This may mean that you need to raise the mudguards and / or extend the chain by a couple of links
You also need a locking device on the bike. A permenantly fixed chain / padlock / Bike lock is fine.
If you make all of the above modifications there should be no reason why the bike will not pass the test. The test fee is £70 and then you will need to apply to DVLA for a V5 which costs £38.

So putting 2 and 2 together, its not this one then? Wink

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ducati-49cc-Mini-Moto_W0QQitemZ150320767701QQ

Pic looks familiar Wink

Its most certainly used ... in both the description and the video in the listing!! Laughing

https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=l2a_KN0Z3k0

A princely £95 delivered ...

Anyway, as long as you are happy with it!! Smile

Sorry for slightly p1ssing on your camp-fire ... but it just seemed a little odd that someone would pay that much for a 2nd hand minimoto ... when for an extra tenner you could get a NEW one ... from a shop ...

Unless my 2 & 2 have actually made 6 there and it is not that bike at all!?!?

Embarassed

judging by the winners eBay name I reckon it is Peter.

listing says NEW, but then it's out of the box and being ridden round a car park.

No.

What you are riding in your avatar is a midimoto.
A minimoto is about two inches lower and two inches shorter.

Sadly randon chinese people have 'stolen' the name to describe a wide range of stuff, from the above up to bikes a fair bit bigger than gag bikes Rolling Eyes.
