bought it like this for £1000 last year

looks like you'll be doing more polishing than riding on that now ...

i do understand the appeal of polished bikes as i've had them, although they've always been naked and thus looking better than a faired when polished (just my opinion)....

i like my bikes usable nowadays regardless of the weather, road salt etc...

anyway it's your bike, enjoy it

How come your polishing it all up? Well what i mean is, are you going for the whole chrome effect or are your preping it for some really nice paint?

i just love the whole shiney shiney look i ride in all weather but have all the polishing gear so even after hard rain 2 hours later its gleaming again as long as i keep onb top of it ,
past bikes ive done ive ridden them through the winter salt everything and come summer still look justas good
