Top Tip i think

Hi, when i first started riding i noticed i was having to correct the bike midcorner, mostly just rolling off or on the throttle, or countersteering more. Until i learnt about vanishing points.
eg Entering a left hand bend with no view around the bend or how severe the bend was i'd be in the middle of my lane not looking far enough ahead, hence the late corrections.

It was indicated to me by my instructor when I was on my DAS that vanishing points can sometimes be hard to pick up when on a bike, and that concentrating on them can mean that you fail to pick up other cues and hazards.

The suggestion was, instead, that you concentrate on the 'distance in which you can stop' method in preference, at least for everday driving. If you're going for a hoon, this might not be quite so useful, mind!

Never knew about this, watched the vid and this has helped me to corner so much better!

most roads around here are country roads so its very helpful and i always found myself having to drop the throttle or correct my cornering

I'm a bit surprised that the instructor was giving her praise, even at the point where as she went through a bend she crossed over the white lines. Sure there wasn't a car coming the otherway at that particular moment, but it's still rather shit. What if there had been a biker coming the other way doing some speed? They wouldn't expect someone to be on the wrong side of the road.
