02.46 and I'm woken by screaming partying piss head Australians and students.

Went to bed early as it's a busy day in work tomorrow, last Friday of the month, last day of the month. Just been woken up.

Now I live in the residential part of Brick Lane, I'm an old boy having lived here 28 years. People pretty much leave me alone except when they want a chat. 3 doors down from me is let out to students and every year a straightener has to happen. Last weekend some new ones moved in and tonight I guess was the baptism. I don't mind a party too much, I just object when it starts at 2.45 on a school day and I have screaming Australian piss heads out in a garden swearing eternal love or something to each other.

So they've been out drinking at either the clubs on Brick Lane or Hoxton square, they close at 2am on a Thursday so they've brought the party home.

Now next door to me there lives a family with 3 boys under the age of ten, other side an old mad Greek woman with two mad daughters in their 30's, next to them a family with 5 kids and next to them the party. This really is a quiet residential street.

Bit pissed of so I dropped around, hammered the door till someone answered and politely suggested they down the music down to which I just got a sort of vacant stare. So told them to turn the music down or I'd come back with a sledgehammer, put their door in then put it through the fuse box. Vacant stare turned to comprehension and profuse apologies.

This is not how life should be, I shouldn't have to threaten people to get a nights sleep. Wankers

Its now 5.00AM, at 4.00AM i finished a 7 hour session of poker at uni, the game was full of about 10 drunk/high students and a couple hundred pounds, much shouting, smoking and card playing later im sure there were a bunch of pissed off neighbours at the noise and antics, but you know what i dont give a fuck because i am £50 richer and am going go-karting in 7 hours, after that i will probably sit around at a mates house for the rest of the day getting high and playing mario kart wii Thumbs Up

Now im going to sleep in my leafy suburb in peace and quiet untill the alarm in the morning.

These rare moments it is good being a student Wink

I love it when you talk dirty! Drooling

Honey, I have to point out that you REALLY made yourself sound like a boring old fart neighbour, now you know and I know that's not the case.
(For the info of people who have never stayed at Pup's place, he doesn't over-react to house-party-noise, I've been there and there's been parties opposite until 5am, with your average amount party noise, to be expected when there's student houses nearby.)

I'm guessing last night's noise level was a bit extreme?

Things like that make me glad I work nights, but then I live on a very busy main road and I get wagons, buses, vans and cars bouncing through the potholes all day and then people knocking on the door which makes the dog bark etc.

You lucky lucky sod.

I ended up going back at 3.30 to tell them to quieten down again, I don't understand why pissed Australians feel the need to go into the back garden and scream at the top of their voices.

Had a 6'2 Russell Brand Wannabee screaming at me 'I don't recognise you, how long have you lived here'. '28 Fucking years' I replied which kind of stumped him a bit. He then tried invading my personal space while screaming fuck a lot and two of his mates had to restrain him.

Drunk kids who think they are adults, sad sight to behold.

Hopefully thats this year's over and done with. Mr. Green Thumbs Up

I'm sure you manage to convey to them that you won't put up with their crap.

But obviously, if not, I'm not far away either, not that I spend a lot of time banging neighbourly heads together, and you sound like a fairly resourceful chap yourself anyway Laughing ... but if you want to brainstorm, giz a shout, I'll buzz round.
