Can anyone recommend any decent push bikes (new or used) for under, say, £350? It'll need to put up with a 40-odd mile round commute each day...

Cheers,

You want a mountain style or racing style?

You likley to want to use it off road at other times, going up and down kerbs? Or just plain road use?

Don't get a full suspension if your doing road miles. Get one with SPD pedals if you can, and you will be able to ride with them (they clip to the bottom of a sole of a shoe, improving your pedlling efficency).

Better place to ask would be the forum of www.bikemagic.com Smile

You have to get SPD shoes though... but probably worth it for 40 miles a day Neutral

Technically you probably are.
But your one has an engine...

After all why make your leg do all the work, when you have a nice piston to do it all for you.

Have a look at www.evanscycles.co.uk might help you decide what you want or give you some ideas. Got some good deals on there too.

Yeah but it gets you fit and you don't feel so fucked in the mornings... I used to do 20 miles/day when I worked in Shepherd's Bush but never attempted the 18 miles to Tottenham Court Road yet.

I cycled to work for 6 years in all weathers, that's what made me buy a bike with an engine. Thought if i'm gonna get soaked I might as well get a bike with an engine and save on the leg work.

There's allegedly a cycle-friendly route from Bristol to Bath, so I'm thinking about giving that a go when I go back to Uni, but it would be useful as well in the meantime.

It would be more than 20 miles actually, but it really isn't *that* far, and might actually be quicker than the road (ok, maybe the Blade will be faster).

The only time i use the push bike is when the ones with engines fail.

And even then i try to get out of going to college and work.
I can't be bothered to cycle the 3 miles to college, and the 2 to work.

i'm lazy and i don't care. lol

i haven't got a push bike no mores though thats how we say off the road, dues to a snapped axel, stupid brother...
