Have you not posted this before??? I'm sure I've already seen it ages ago either that or I'm suffering deja vu, If it is the same one was it not dropped since the paint job???
Looks like a decent enough job though. ____________________ Tristan the wrote: just whipped off my trousers to find a big bruise on my arse, caused by matt rear ending me... |

I was thinking that!
Very impressive for a rattle can job. You do loose a point for misplacing one of your upper fairing bolts though. ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

Yeah, it was done a few months ago initially, now I've fixed up the damage done when I dropped it - good as new.....ish
The pink was lightly sanded and then had a couple of coats of plastic primer put on just to make sure the new paint stuck. The original job took the weekend, and the repairs about half a day. |

I opened this thread expecting to see another ridiculously painted matt black piece of shit. However this looks amazing for a rattle-can job. It looks much better... ____________________ I Ride: Honda CBR 400RR.

First, masked it off and cut around the curves in the masking tape with a blade.
Then some light sanding with 800, followed by 1200 grit wet & dry.
2 coats of Halfords plastic primer (light 1200 grit sanding between coats).
3 coats of of silver (no sanding between)
3 coats of clear lacquer
Leave to dry over night in front of the coal fire in the front room
Polish with rubbing compound and a coat of wax and job's a good 'un.
Whole job done in a weekend and cost less than 50 quid all in |

You guys must either have better rattle can paint or more talent than those of us in the US, cause I've seen many spray can paint jobs on here that look way better than what I see locally. I think I'm going with better talent those... I do live in redneckville.
Either way, great job, I had to look for a minute to notice that the purple was actually the same color. The silver makes it look more blue now. ____________________ Snooping in from the US, don't kill me. |
