As reported by MCN, so perhaps should be taken with a pinch of salt. This is said to up and running by Easter this year!

The technology can tell motorcycles apart from other vehicles, measure their speeds and will be able to read number plates under plans. Data such as the routes taken by individual motorcyclists along with time and date will be collected and kept even if they have committed no offence.

Is this a load of bollocks? What legitimate reason does the government have to spy on motorcycles specifically?

The routes to be targeted include the Cat & Fiddle and Snakes Pass.

Big brother or what?

He said there were no plans to use the data for enforcement but admitted it could be used as evidence. “If the police are aware that it’s there then they would want to look at it and then obviously there are issues about whether they would want to use it as evidence,” he added.

This makes me laugh........what a load of tosh

I skimmed that and read it as "aliens employed by the government to come and steal your face."

I thought "I know MCN can be a bit extravagent on occasions, but surely they're not reporting face-stealings now..."

Silly me.
