Hey bit of an odd one this morning, my bike wouldn't idle properly at all with the choke on or with the choke off, I just put it down to the fact I haven't used it for a few days.

As I got about half way to uni this morning I got two massive backfires come out the exhaust, then all of a sudden the bike is running fine, idling about 600rpm higher than usual but the bike is idling.

It was fine after that, still idling high but I'm not sure whats causing that. So is it anything to worry about? When I'm done with lectures I'm going to check the exhaust for any holes in it but I'm not sure what else would cause this?

Just sounds like the fueling has been a little messed up, perhaps from using the choke.

The backfire is just a build up of un burnt fuel in the exhaust, learn to do them on demand Twisted Evil

So the fact its over idling could have casued the back fire? I'll take a look at the idle speed later.

Also worth checking you've got no air/gases entering or leaving where they shouldn't. Airbox, carb, exhaust.
