Child tax refund

read this today, may or may not be of interest to some of you Smile

basically, if you have a child/children born between '86 and '03 then you may be elgible for a £529 or a £1040-odd refund due to some sort of change in the year 2002/3.

you have to have been living with the child for part or all of 02/03 and working and paying tax in that year.
down side is DEADLINE 31st of JANUARY!

Lots of emails doing the rounds on this....

Many of them link to companies who will charge £90+ and any interest to find out if you can claim it....
Went round our work place like fire, thankfully many had not got round to filling in the forms when i found you could go direct to HRMC and not pay the leeches their cut.

One woman actually rang the company and they told her that the £94 was a government fee.... Twisted Evil

Entitlements Agency will retain any interest and £94exc vat for processing/administration
