I would not say that i am really tall, but i am around 6foot 2 or 3 and VFR400 is something i been loking into but i seen people say that its for small ppl only.

All i wanted to know if i gonna look like a twat on it or not, had my NSR 125 which was ok for me no problem.

So i am 6ft3 - 188cm

Around 15stone

When I was looking for my first big bike I saw a VFR400 in one of my local garages and there is no way anyone over 6ft could possibly be comfortable on it as it really is tiny. Plus you would look a bit of a twat sadly (the 2 reasons why I didn't buy it even though it is a good looking bike).

may i advertise my own kawasaki gpx400?

Quite a large bike compared to the honda 400's and shares everything but the engines top end with the 600 version.

If your interested give me a shout, at £600 its a steal Mr. Green

I've test rode a vfr400. While it was a lot of fun and felt mint I dont think i could handle it for long or go any distance on it. felt really cramped. I'm 6'3 similar sort of weight for reference.

Get out on one. That's the only possible way you will know. It's no good asking other people how you're going to feel on a bike.

They are tiny, I'm 6'5 and found it like sitting on a mini moto.

I also have a Speed Four, for the same price as a VFR you will get a newer, faster, comfier lower milage, more reliable bike that handles better. Insurance wont be any highier ether. When I was 19 with 1ncb my insurance was £575 TPFT for a 6 month old S4.

I am 19 with 1 year NCB and i get quotes of 400-500 for GSXR 600 SRAD. There is a guy selling one for around 1500 with 20k miles on it looking in a good condition so might be getting that. I will need to restrict it and people say it will feel sluggish but oh well, as long as it will do 70. GSXR SRAD looks quite big so should be a good fit Very Happy

You must live in a better area than me (Damn Romford!) I sat on an SRAD and didn't find it as comfy as my S4 but it has a more sporty riding style to it. My S4 Restricted hit 110 on the speedo, I image the SRAD should do the same. It basically will just cut out the power band at 8k or so revs.

All the people saying you will feel uncomfrotable is bollocks. I doubt any (if any) actually ride them.

I'm currently riding an NC30 and I'm 6ft 2.

I've toured up to scotland on the motorway. Didn't feel cramped or anything. My knees felt a bit "odd" after about 2 hours and then having a break. But tbh, I got that ony my Hornet 6 when I wasn't moving around on the bike. I wouldn't be surprised if I got that on any bike!

I also rode around fantastic rodes between Edinburgh and Newcastle with all my stuff while "touring". Outrun 4 guys who did that road every weekend and were on newer shinier bikes. They didn't ike the fact that someone on a breaking down bit by bit NC30 who's never ridden the road before could lose them Laughing

I also use the bike every day to commue to and from work. 20 miles each way on average. I've never complained. I quite like the position of it atm, even though the rear has been lowered (which I find annoying and unsettling in corners)

The only true way to find out is to acually have a test ride. And not just round the block. But at least 10 miles I'd say. Thumbs Up

I'm 6' 5" and I had one. It was all good except I looked like a gonk when at a stand-still. But then I looked like a gonk on my Blades, so WTH.

i find the V4 makes the bike comfier as the engine is thinner and have much more leg room as the bike doesnt get any wider than the seat.

What will it cost you to have a sit on one and see what you think? I sat on one not long back (6'2" and 14ish stone) and was very surprised at just how "roomy" it felt for a little race rep thingy.

Sadly finances forbade the replacement of my ER5 and it stayed where it was.
