Hi, can anyone tell me what kind of discount you get on your insurance. if any, when you pass your test. I have CBT and are thinking about doing my Direct Access. I have an 01 NSR and plan to fully de-restrict when passed. I already have the intake restrictor out, as this was done by the dealer because they were fed up of bikes having the carbs getting all oiled up and sticky.

Thank you!

You could try doing the quick quotes at www.clickquote.com or www.bennetts.co.uk. If not, just ring up an insurance company a coupla times.

The difference between a CBT and full licence insurance varies between the difference companys.

Some seem to think it is majorly important and will charge you double. Some will only charge around £40 more.

Whether or not you're over 21 will also make a LARGE difference.

I'm only 20, have 1 yrs NCB, and running on a CBT only.
I have managed to get a quote of £298 (through Carter Gilbrook)
Although lots of companies are quoting £700-800

The trick is to do a lot of ringing round.
It always pays off eventually!
