Heya, I'm gauging interest in the Fut before I go px it in:
It's a 2003 Aprilia RST 1000 Futura in blue, just under 33,500km (~21,000 miles) on it, it has 4 months tax and MOT remaining. It's due a service in approx. 1500 miles. It comes with it's original hard panniers, has a scottoiler fitted and comes with all it's original paperwork and keys etc.
I'll happily delivery it within a 150 mile radius of Plymouth for the cost of a train ticket back, although I'll want a small non refundable deposit through paypal before I ride it over to you.
I'm looking for £2300

It's a quirky beast, being based upon the original RSV Millie but redesigned to be a long distance orientated sports tourer, top notch factory hard luggage (no ugly brackets like the VFR or Sprint ST) and a hugely comfortable seat for both rider and pillion round off a solid mile munching package at a stupidly cheap price. Parts availability isn't too bad as long as you are prepared to import it yourself with most bits being readily available from AF1 racing or it's forum community on the Aprilia boards. I've never had to wait longer than a week for a part.
The bike is a German import and has KM clocks and tripmeters with an MPH overlay on the speedo, the headlamp hasn't been replaced for a UK spec one but is currently masked to MOT standards.
Mechanically the bike is in tip top shape and the main Futura bugbears have been addressed, the bike has an AF1 racing fuel line connector fitted inplace of the useless OE part as well as the revised ECU map to sort out the throttle response at low speeds, I'll also add that the Brown blocks are as standard but have not been problematic thusfar. The tyres (Roadsmarts) have done aprox 3000 miles, have plenty left in them and are not squared off. It wants a fresh battery soonish as it's struggled with some of the cold mornings and short commutes lately. The front calipers could do with a de salting, pads have plenty of material but the slime hasn't done them any favours.
Cosmetically it's a mixed bag so I'll be descriptive to avoid any issues down the line.
Whilst I'm pretty pedantic about keeping it clean, the bikes been run all year round which shows under close inspection.
It's evidently taken a standing drop at some point in it's life, one pannier has a moderate gouge on it but is otherwise fine and intact with no other damage, the other pannier is mint. The right side nose fairing has a small gap where it meets the clocks, I suspect the front subframe is slightly out as a result of the drop.
The mirrors on the bike are rather shabby, the right hand mirror is just cosmetically untidy whilst annoyingly the otherwise tidy left mirror has a broken fold up hinge which has consequently been given the araldite and tape treatment. However I have another set of mirrors which will be included with the bike, the plastics and hinges on the second set are 100% as new, but the glass will want swapping in the left side mirrors as the fresh set's glass is damaged.
The rest of the plastics are fine, the bike has the usual share of stone chips but is nice and shiny for the most part, the fuel tank's paint is nice and tidy although the front corners do show small marks from being used with a tank bag.
Beyond that, the tops of the forks are a bit tarnished, the headstock is marked from the previous owners keys and the rear wheel nut cover has a scratch from a tyre change.
It's not going to win a concourse anytime soon, but assuming your not as fastidious as me it's still plenty shiny enough
If the interest is there I'll go do a few laps of it with the camera.
Cheers! ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |
