Out of interest - what do you reckon caused it? Just got too hot with the throttle out of the corner?

Aliens would be my first guess, but other than that, yeah, ham fisted throttle application.

You can hear him just start to open up while he's still cranked over, then the back comes out. Quite good to learn from.

And not like I know anything, but isn't that an 'almost-highside' rather than a drift?

Too much gas.

Incidentally, if he hadn't shut the throttle as much it wouldn't have popped like that.

It would require sublime calmness in the heat of the moment, but the right throttle control would have led to a far more gentle solution to that situation.

Easier done on track than unexpectedly on the road though.

Yea, Its instinct, But when you loose the arse end, You naturally close the throttle I suppose. Resulting in the rear gaining too much traction too quickly, Standing the bike upright, and in alot of cases, Leading to a high side.

I almost high-sided the pit bike a few weeks ago on a wet right hander.
