fuel gauge help

hello i have a Piaggio zip

i would like to put a fuel gauge on my bike the round ones with the needle so i can check how much fuel is in the tank without waiting for the little light in the clocks to come on.

i dont which gauge to get all i know is that it has to be a universal one however i dont know the ohm's the fuel sender gives out when it is full/empty

or can you suggest something else?

Your going to struggle as petrol gauges rely on a float (similar to a toilet ballcock) inside the tank that a sender relays its position to the gauge.

To put one of those in a tank and jerry rig it to work is going to be a royal PITA.

I reset my oddomoeter when filling up and use that as a rough guide. Or there's the tried and tested method of shaking the bike from side to side and listen to the petrol slushing about.
