okay i have been doing my research on the technigas enox exhaust for my 2008 CPI SX 50, i have spoke to a few people on ebay and utube who have the same bike with that exhaust, a lad on utube said that his was great but he was over-revin it quite a bit on a motorway (i dont go on motorways at all, or straight roads for as long as that) and it blew up but i do know he still has the stock gearing (62 rear - 11 front) and jetting (dont know the jets). i have the same gearing, my bike tops out very quickly and i wouldnt wanna take it to a motorway, also the advert for the pipe does say that your supposed to get the cpi derestriction kit first, which includes bigger jets, smaller rear sprocket (48 i think) and larger front sprocket (12 or 13 i cant remember) etc, i am getting this kit anyway to gear the bike up abit more because first gear is useless and it tops out too quickly.
what i want to know is, i know its only a 50 but do you guys think his engine blew because of either it should have been geared and jetted up so that it aint revvin too high and so it gets the right mixture or whatever from the jets or just because he has been screamin it down the motorway 6th gear full throttle

dont think it would be the jetting, the jetting just helps the bike to run... if its to big, wont run well without other setup.

taking a 50cc on a motorway isnt wise to start with... no wonder it blew up, he would of been thrashing it to get it up to top speed.

If he didn't jet it, it probably ran lean which means it ran hotter which could be why it blew.

well thats what the lad said, i know u can take a 50cc moped on a motorway if you have a full moped licence or a bike licence (cant see why you would want to) but i dont know if this guy has a licence allowing him to do so and i really dont care wether he has or not but that is what he said

See thats where your technically wrong, I remember this as a question in my theory test and yes its 50cc with a proper license, but the hook in your plan is 50's arnt actually 50cc, if you read your v5 or similar they are 49.7 etc, hence there not over 50cc Wink Not sure if you'd find a copper picky enough to do you for it.

and the person who said jetting makes no difference, it blatently does, more fuel = less heat = less air = less chance of it running lean = less chance of getting too hot because if the too much air and making the piston get too hot and expand in the barrell scoring it to buggery?

All Mopeds are under 50cc.

aha well you learn something new everyday i thought it was still classed as a 50cc, i know i may sound silly but does anyone know if a exhaust is likely to help your bike blow up bearing in mind its a 50 well 49cc lol

yes exaust change can make your bike blow up unless you alter the jetting to suit the exaust

well the ad says that it needs the jets from the cpi derestriction kit which is gettin fitted this week, so would you guys say it would be okay with a technigas enox when it has those jets, smaller rear sprocket and bigger front

i know this will sound silly but what is a plug chop and how do you do it, also what other signs of wrong jetting are there except from irratic tick over, black spooge from exhaust, blue or white smoke from exhaust, anything else would be great because i think i will get this exhaust becuase my stock pipe looks horrible and i cant find anything else that doesnt go underneath the engine, thanks again guys

A plug chop is whilst the engine is under load for example going up a steep hill, turn the engine off and clutch in, and roll to a stop remember your brakes as your on a hill Laughing then take the plug out and check what colour it is, White - lean Choclate brown - Good Black/wet - wrong jettin or over oiling.

Your aimin for choclate brown
white is bad and will pop your engine
and black/wet means over fueling or over oiling depending on which it is, which will either waste alot of fuel and sumtimes flood it or coke up your plug then it wont start or run.

so if the plug is a chocolate brown or tan colour its running okay with that exhaust and if its white or black it needs jetting properly, also is there any other way to do a plug chop because i was talkin about it to my mate and he said he was told to put his moped on the centre stand (when the rear wheel is lifted off the floor) and keep it at highish revs for a min or so and then take the plug out to check the colour, would this work with mine if i use my mx paddock stand (to lift the rear wheel) and do it in say 2nd or something at highish revs (obviously not screamin), thanks alot for your help, adam

No your mate tells you wrong mainly because its under no big load, so you cant get a proper judgement from it, unless its running stupidly wrong, the hill way is still the best way.
