speakers

Righto, when I start my new job I want to treat myself to some new speakers. I currently have phillips bog standard 5.1 system. Good but sound quality isn't brilliant.

I have had a look around and one of my mates has one of these

£190 which seems ok for a decent system like that.

I don't want to spend over £250 and needs to be 5.1 but would consider 7.1. Does anyone have any they can say good things about or know of?

Not heard a bad report about them, lad at work has them and says they blow his Sony surround on his main A/V surround system away.

Brilliant, my own personal equipment tester.

I have read that they sound better than some peoples home cinema kit which costs thousands.

Seems like a bargain for that quality.

I've never fully understood 5.1 for a PC.

Do you place the speakers like, Around your entire room? Or do you like, Have 3 of them on your desk, One perched on a window sill, and one on your CD rack in the corner of your room by your PC?


I used to have a 5.1 Logitec setup when I lived at home with my parents, But the leads they came with didn't reach round my tiny little bedroom. Let alone a fair sized living room.



I'm currently running this setup with my TV. Sounds brilliant.

I have 3 on my desk and 2 behind to the sides on a wardrobe type thing. Bass under the desk next to pc. Currently got 2 subs wired up so bass is there if I need it.

Good sound though.

As for speaker positions,

Front L/R on wall behind desk near ceiling for now need to be dropped when re-decorate.

Center on wall above screen, just above ear hight.

Rear L/R On back wall behind me again near ceiling, to be fixed soon.

Sub under desk.
