Well i bought this MBK MITRO and had a full engine rebuild i have done 300 kms ish and i went to a mates house but he wasnt home so i just span round but as i got over the road it just cut out so i got off and nada so i held the manual choke in and it started but as soon as i give it gas it would just cut out after half hour of kicking it over i gave up and pushed it 15 kms home i know it was that far the speedo told me

What i am thinking is fuel starvation what do i do ?

yep there is petrol i filled up 2 days ago and there is half a tank left what can i do ?

If it starts on the choke there must be fuel. If it runs on the choke, but cuts when you rev it then it could be a blocked jet. If that's the case, clean the carb and tank and fuel lines then stick in some fresh fuel and try. Did you do the rebuild yourself?

I had the same problem with my aerox. Turned out to be water in the carb bowl which was blocking the jet.

dont have AA in spain but i did ring a recovery company and they said they would get there the next day so what use is that to me such lazy people here

slight update today i stripped the carb and it was full of this like sticky plastic dont know if it was the gasket of the carb bowl of if it came down from the tank so i cleaned that and put a inline filter inplace and went for a ride to a mates house long story short it cut out on me 30 mins b4 i started work so i was a tad late and will investigate later today

I would check your carb again if it is the same type of problem. If it is then drain your tank and refill it to try help it happening again if it is something in the fuel. m

Right well i thought i had sorted it but obviously not as you can tell i am posting this at half 3 in the morning guess what i just got home again after pushing it god knows how many miles

This afternoon i took the tank off and cleaned it out with more petrol few bits n bobs came out but nothing major then i checked the non return valve on the bottom on the tank to find that it wasnt flowing fast enough so i swapped one of another aerox project i have witch is just a simple tap mon and off so this seemed to work fine untill i stopped for a slash n it cut out and wouldnt start again so i am really fed up with this bike

what else can i do ?

ooh i also checked the carb and it was clean even cleaned the jets just cant work this one out what else is there to try ? ? ?

you might find your tank breather is blocked creating a vacuum in it, that'll stop the fuel flowing ....

if it happens again open the filler cap and see if it starts and runs easy enough ...

open filler cap = no vacuum

A new sparking plug will be cheap and can do no harm.

Right a slight update

I changed the sparking plug but still no joy so i kicked it and it fell over thats when i noticed not one drop of petrol touched the floor so i took the plastics and cut a long story short baisicly the non return valve was nackered so i got a fuel tap with just on and off problem solved woop woop Razz

But i now have another problem when i even think of pulling the choke it will bog down and even cut out even when its cold but i do love manual choke if i get to a hill because its got a sports exaust it will do about 20 kph as soon as i pull the choke in it gets the power band and wizzes up the hill at about 60 kph woop woop

If you need the choke at WOT then you need to jet up the main or risk engine damage... Have you cleaned the carb out?
