Hi, there's a hole in my exhaust, it's underneath and near the end. About 20mm x 10mm.
It's not creating any backfires, but alot is escaping.
In a stab at the dark approach i stuffed a brillo-pad Smile in the hole.
It worked for abit.
What repair can i make? Something that doesn't invlove welding, and not an ugly bandage would be best.
Thanks

Pat

Is this your bike? You could try tapping the hole and sticking a bolt in it with epoxy but if it's rotted away in the first place it might be too weak.

Yep thats the bike, the hole has slight rusting and the chrome is thin, like the idea of resin n bolt..then again i might Shoot my bolt.
Just need a semi-perm fix until i can track down some replacements (don't want the motard 2-1)

Don't be picky. If you want a quick repair it's not going to be pretty.

A tin can and some jubilee clips Thumbs Up

You could try a Holts Exhaust Repair Bandage or a Hermatite Exhaust Repair Bandage and a couple of jubilee clips to keep it in place.

Tin cans are a source of pre-bent metal. I have before now used some tin can, araldite, and jubilee clips.

However, I had the motad exhaust on my CB250RSA after the originals disintegrated. It's ok.

MandP used to do cheap parts of pattern originals, but this was 5 years ago.

Another method is exhaust putty, a metal plate and some pop rivets.

Make the plate big enough to overlap hole by about an inch and drill mounting holes in the plate. Position the plate over the hole and mark the first hole in your exhaust (to match up with plate hole) and drill it.

Next, exhaust putty over the silencer and a bit on the plate ... then pop rivet on, drilling and pop riveting the remaining holes.

Have fun Thumbs Up
