I want to remove the endcap from the 250's exhaust to make it sound a bit growlier. Will this have any negative effects at all?

Also, it seems to be held in with spot welds - can I just bash it out?

Cheers.

Can effect the back pressure in some cases, sometimes it lets the engine breath better giving more power.

I would just take a sharp chisel to the welds and see what happens, If no good, can always weld them back in.

The spot welds could be stronger than you think and when you go to bash it you'll just fvck it up and bend it.

As MetalKen said, or even better drill the welds out ... it'll be very easy to knock the metal out of shape.

Agreed - drill the welds out, and then pop rivet the holes. If the spot welds are done right there's no way to chisel them out without messing up the surrounding metal.

You can if you have a decent chizel, trust me i do these sort of things on a weekly basis, it's part of my job.

Though if you have not done it before you can try drilling them but i find the drill tends to jump off the welds, a dremel might do it.

Ken Thumbs Up
