Sorry if someone dislike this post or whatever but here it goes. I need some cheap car insurance companies for young drivers, have 2 years ncb for bikes, 1 claim, some points, 19yrs old. Everywhere i looked comes up with 2grand or more on TPO or TPFT on most basic cars like 1.2 fiesta 1.4 saxos and all that...

I am not prepared to spend more then a grand on insurance which is likely not to be used anyway.

Managed to insure my gixxer for 450 so why can't sama happen to a car Very Happy

Well I'm 19, the cheapest quotes I've been getting are around £1400 TPFT for 1l - 1.4l cars. Mostly though Go Compare I need business insurance as well though.

I will be specially looking onto companies who accept bike NCB as i might build up 3 of those by the end of next year.

My friend got ripped off by insurance company, he got all the stuff sorted by ringing them up and as a new driver he got a 1500 premium with 250 exess for Honda Civic 1.4 at the age of 19 which is reasonably cheap (lol). He is in uni with me but when the paperwork arrived it said that his occupation was a Bank Clerk which is obviously wrong as he is a student in uni, so he rang them up and they said that if they change it to student his premium will jump by 400pounds even he didn't say he was a bank clerk at the first place. So basically woman he was talking to has ripped him off by putting wrong details just to make a 'sale' to get her commission.

Now hes gotta cancel the policy which costs 100quid, he tried to make a complaint but they said that they are just a broker and can't do anything.

I'll uptade on the name of that insurance company as i can't remmember

He has to have received the paperwork through at the latest 5 days after inception of the policy; if he hasn't then it's not contract certainty compliant. If he'd have checked the paperwork within the first 14 days and told them that it does not meet his needs, he is entitled to a pro rata refund.

There should be no short period cancellation charges at all

He shold be reminding the broker that its THEIR fault, that they did not list him as a student... I take it they did ask what he did as its a std question. They are still covered by the body that oversee's them and their rules and regs....

If the broker say they cannot do anything, then go over their head straight to the ins company providing the cover and explain to them just how bad this broker is and they are lieing on the forms to get lower quotes....
Should see some action by the ins co and the policy revoked FOC.

I love being in my 30s.

2 bikes insured (One brand new, the other 2 years old), fully comp, NCD, With european wide breakdown £250

Ford Mondeo, Fully comp NCD, 2 drivers £200

Saying that, it does seem to be ridiculously expensive nowadays. My first car when I was 19, cost me £300 to insure. Even if prices have doubled it would still only be £600 .

I don't know what to recommend, apart from changing your sex.

Young lady drivers get much cheaper insurance as they are more likely to bump a bumper in Asda as opposed to a young bloke loosing it doing 70 on a twisty wet road at night , with 4 mates in the car.
