Reading another thread has got me thinking about buying a compressor and spraying my own panels. I'm not too sure what i am looking for regarding size of compressor etc.

Will this compressor, although primarily for airbrushes work for a spraygun and be able to handle spraying panels?

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Spraymaster-Premium-Silent-Airbrush-Compressor_W0QQitemZ290293298257QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Air_Tools_and_Compressors?hash=item290293298257&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1689%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Thanks for all your help

Damon

It'll be fine for airbrushing but is unlikely to cope with the demands of proper spray painting.

I'd say this is a minimum requirement.

Hi

I would say go for the biggest you can afford / justify. While you probably want it for spraying, chances are you will want to use it with various air tools.

I have one that is a bit bigger than the one Ichy posted, and I regularly wish for something a fair bit bigger.

All the best

Keith

Something you trying to tell us Wink

As Keith says, get the biggest and best you can afford ... the minimum I'd get would be 3HP with a 50L tank ... if I had the space and money then I'd buy a bigger one, but I don't Thumbs Up

Yup, as big as you can afford, you can stick a regulator on it to controll the pressure output for painting and stuff, and they are very handy for other air tools.

I have got a huge tank 3Hp one and it is brilliant, also got some smaller ones for airbrushing and stuff, but I moslty use the big one.

i'm not big built (in fact i'm a slender shortarse) i can just about manage to pick my compressor up and put it in the back of my car on my own (a real struggle), it does everything i need it to do including use a proper spraygun and assorted airtools...

only problem is it only just supplies enough air to paint one car panel and the pump is always running trying to keep up...

as said by others, buy the biggest you can afford/justify/store

i love my compressor, even if all i want to do is inflate my own tyres i'll never be without one now

You will need to spend a few bob on water seperation as well, you need dry clean air to spray paint
