NOoooo my heated grips are dead anyone know how long the guarantee for oxfords hotgrips lasts?

Deceided to sort the wiring out from my alarm, airhorn, heated grips, satnav, and lamps, all into one nice tidy lead and homemade fuse box and get rid of the 4-5 rolls of insulation and twisted wires that was holding it all together .

So it all goes to plan my solder goes on great even with shakey cold hands. I heatshrink with a huge length of heatshrink and it all looks like it came out of a showroom.

Rigged it to the battery and heard a click from the fuse box and the heated grips fuse had blown. Checked everywhere for any damaged wires but it was all perfect. So i took of the grip controler and rigged that using a fuse to the battery and it blew the fuse so i can safely say its the controler that is dead BUT how?? it didnt short on anything.

So now i have all the wires rigged and heatshrinked in place but no control box to run the grips Crying or Very sad I thought it was going to well Sad

Anyone got a control box they dont need Mr. Green

Now is 2 in the morning i thnk im going to go have a sulk and a beer.

So what you are basically saying is that you f**ked around with all of this supplementary wiring on your bike and you've blown the heated grips up in the process. Either that or it was a big coincidence. Very Happy

On a more positive note I would say that they should be guaranteed for 12 months so just take them back with the receipt to wherever you bought them from, play dumb and just say that they have packed up. The chances are the will exchange them or give you a refund. Thumbs Up
