[img]ive got a puncture about half an inch from the side of the tyre , its quite a new tyre so dont really want to fork out for a new one

ive already been to a few places and they said it was too close to plug it so i was just wandering if its easy to plug tyres youself ? and if it is ok to do it the guy said it might cause a blowout but i wasnt tottaly convinced or if anyone around the north london/south herts area know how to do it and fancys giving me a hand it would be much appreciated , cheers

In my experience of plugging bike tyres they never seem to last very long before they leak again anyway, don't know if the shape of the tyre has something to do with it?Blowout is unlikely however if you were to lose all your air between one corner and the next it could be very nasty,so it's understandable that they don't want to repair it.Have you tried the sealing gel stuff you get from bike shops?Failing that if you have the right profile tyre you could probably tube it but it can be a right pain in the arse to do,I know it sucks but i've scrapped my last 2 rear tyres with almost new tread on them due to punctures as i just can't be arsed repairing them anymore
