No but I often ride in excess of 14 hour days and hundreds of miles in one stint, keeping core temperature up would help keep me safe.

I tried my best to google it, but not joy.

Dunno if this pad can be fitted to your bike. It's from europe however

Corbin make em for some bikes, but I don't know if that line is imported into the UK, you could speak to the busters/m&p/fastone shop with loads of names, which carrys some corbin stuff.

Other than that, all I can think of is the BMW ones, which could be stripped down, easier than making one from scratch.

You can get heat packs in Sargent seats as an optional extra (£100 per person I think).

https://www.sargentcycle.co.uk/

Some of the regular seat guys may be able to modify/rebuild your current seat to include one.

I made one using the pad out of a car seat. I didn't put much effort into and just used an on/off switch, would of been much better with proper control.

Definately warmed up my bum, but didn't seem to do much good for my chest/upper arms. I did think of sticking another pad into the back of my jacket but never got around to it.

What people miss is I work in all weathers.

I drove over 150miles in -8 or so temperatures just before new years, cold enough to cause the spark plugs in the bike to crack while driving along the M4 so keeping warm is essential, or I die. Shocked

I did two winters, 5 hours and 250 miles a day. The important thing is lots of thin layers, starting with thermals (M&S sell them reasonably priced), and good textile bike gear.

I was wrapped up like the Michelin man on my R1100RT with heated grips, and handlebar muffs. I found that in the coldest weather my feet and hands still got cold, but the rest of me stayed pretty toastie. Heated socks may have helped but I didnt think I had enough room in my boots for them. I never considered a heated seat as being a good idea.

So a heated seat which would have heated your core keeping your whole body, even the extremities temperature up you didn't consider much use?

MinhDinh wrote:

Too bulky and takes up space on the bike, also you can't really take it off in the middle of the day if it gets a bit warmer.

I also don't like the idea of being attached to the bike with that big umbilical cord that comes out of it in the case of a crash.
