Many years ago it used to be a bmx track and a horse riding track but no longer gets used.

Theres no signs anywhere on it and is normally empty, bar the odd dog walker.Does there have to be a sign up to say no bikes? or should i assume it's not aloud because there are no signs?

Heres a google earth pic of the land.:

Thanks
Dave

I'd guess your not allowed as it isn't a public highway... however if you speak nicely to the land owner they will probably let you play in it for a bit of money or a bottle of Whisky/Wine at christmas

It's council land as far as i know.?

Your probably right though,it's not classed as a public highway so probably not allowed.
I just thought there had to be signs somewhere.

Theres absolutely nowhere local to ride off road now. Evil or Very Mad

Is there nothing in Northumbria or the Yorkshire dales? They aren't that far away are they?

Its a shame Scotland doesn't have any greenlanes they would be awesome.

There is down that way,but it's a good hour+ of motorways to get to that area, which in this weather is'nt really do-able.

I'm from northumberland and theres nothing but farmland there or if there is lanes there i dont know about them.(could'nt find any on the trf website)

Seems like you lot down south have easy access to 'em ,you'd think it would be the other way round
Confused

I know Kielder forest has a track but it is suitable for cars so it won't be that much fun on the bike.

I remember finding a website which you'd put your postcode in and it would find all the unclassified roads in your area, could be worth trying to find that.

https://www.trailwise.org.uk/gmaps/gmap.htm

That gives you some (probably enough) information about the lanes. Once I figured out how to use it (sort of) it got me a few results.

I didn't try and do anything that need logging in, although it did tell me I could get more information about something if I did log in.
