Looks like a scamera van. If you do buy it try not to park on motorway bridges.
Would a car and trailer not be more practical? ____________________ If you dont like the way that I ride.......Stop trying to keep up!!! |

Van much more practical than a trailer for most racing stuff in my experience. Even for the mountain bike race I did today, it was nice just to chuck it in the back when done, though parking wasn't so great.
Ask a lot of questions about it first before bidding if possible; to ensure it runs right, etc etc and you can reasonably walk away if it doesn't.
I've gone to look at a lot of vans and bought very few; there seems to be a certain lacking in hosting with a lot of van sales unfortunately.
There are lower mileage vans around (my tranny was less than 100k, but was dodgy, but was cheap also ).
For a 'proper' race van, I wouldn't go for the crew cab bit like that as it doesn't give you much room in the back - but if you're not using it for sleeping or are happy to just chuck stuff down in the back, should be ok.
Most of my vans have been older and I suspect newer might have made more sense, however I've been limited by budget or wanting a big van (current is a LWB LT35 which is a decent chunk bigger than the above, but does have a wood buring stove amongst other creature comforts ).
Some awnings are good, some aren't. I suspect that one is 'ok' at best, but not 100% sure. If it's a decent make, then it's probably worth a third of your £3k!
My (previous) model SWB lo-top transit was a good driver and despite having a few issues (lots of rust) I was pretty happy with it. Would do doughnuts in first and second too, which was nice . |

Just being me and probably of no consequence.
For a vehicle that he loves and has spent a lot of time working on there appears to be a number of minor electrical faults.
It may be the angle of the photos but the window in the rear looks a little rough round the edges. Be worth checking if that window locks, looks like a recycled sunroof.
Other than that it looks like a useful vehicle.
Just noticed this on Gumtree https://www.gumtree.com/london/62/34687362.html. Have you looked at used prices? ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |

they're a fair van but rust badly.
weakspots include
Nearside arch/sill
near and offside Front arches
roof ( there is a sealed seam that cracks up and lets water in)
on the FWD modeld the EGR cloggs up and causes poor running
waterpump leaks and takes pas pump with it
for the useage you will make of it, I would think that would do fine and have plenty enough life in it. The go well and are fair on fuel for a big bus. I'd want more details on which hp rating it is. I see its a 2.4 which is the rear wheel drive models and they are quite commonly 90hp. 30mpg is doing quite well for one of those too, so id expect the motor to be in fair health.
good luck with it ____________________ 1997 Kawasaki ER 500 A1:- Once again, Its merely crap |

I don't rate the MK6 transit at all highly, the duratorq motors are weak and overly complex, and components are comparitively expensive. They are more difficult to work on than the previous models, as ford made the move into modern car territory. They are more car like to drive, and quieter but these may be the only benefits. They still rust badly.
Specific to that advert, despite all the shite he has added on to it, he doesnt seem to have a real clue about what he is talking about, and the conversion looks like arse in my humble opinion. Pictured is the medium wheel base, rather than the Long.
I would recommend the previous model, MK5 ( https://wilfordcommercials.com/photos/1.16.Ford.transit_190_lwb.n_reg.jpg ) smiley shape grill, over the newer models. I have posted at some depth previously about them, will look up my post when I have more time. Apart from rust issues, if you can find a nice one it will serve you well, and is easily worked on by the home mechanic, unlike that newer model.
I bought my second MK5 late last year (albeit short wheel base), 98 model, 120k miles, solid rust free body, full MOT for £1200. ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

As promised. Some more stuff about the older transit there. ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |
