I signed up for bikesafe, and have been enrolled in scootersafe! Embarassed

would this be due to riding a Honda CBR125R?

I think the day I am on, it is for small capacity stuff, so I should be ok. Embarassed

But.... Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

What will the day be like for those that have been?

How do you "Technically ride a scooter"? A CBR125 is a motorbike, not a scooter.

If it's not a small bike day they'll give you one 2 one anyway. Is scooter safe new?

Half a day in a classroom. Second half of the day on the roads. End of the day you'll get assessed as you would if you were doing advanced training. You'll prob get a sh1t score which will crush you.

2nd day start on the road, get a much better report, feel better about the whole thing and get some freebies. And you would have learned something.

Worth doing imo especially if you live in wales because it's free. Wink

This was my impression of it:

Probably worth giving them a call just to clarify.

Do you have a full license? I wonder if they've lumped you in with the scooters to avoid motorways (we were on the M40 a bit in the North London one).

This is free- but only 1 day.

And, I prefer to think it is a bike. But just because of the engine size and bike size, I get teased that it is a scooter. Embarassed

Easier to put you on scootersafe due to the speed/capacity of your bike whereas bikesafe deal more with faster roads/motorways etc which you are not likely to use so this should be more suitable for you and your day today riding.

Ignore G's link (I seem to remember it being slightly negative in places) as he is a relatively experienced rider on British roads. For you it will be a very useful way to learn about UK riding in a short period. Just take it as it comes.

You're on the Scootersafe if (a) you ride a small capacity bike and/or (b) your riding is city based. It's easier to match people if they all have similar bikes, whereas you'd be struggling to find a place on a BikeSafe course, as they'd have to pair you off with somebody else on a small bike.

If it's the same as the BikeSafe, you'll do two assessed rides with one other student and the copper, each lasting 30-45min, with road safety & other theory stuff thrown in. The idea is to ride how you would normally ride, so they can give you constructive criticism on that.
