OK, I ran out of petrol like 15 miles from any sign of civilization except the empty one track road I was on. The Chinkmobile has a habit lasting about 15 seconds on the reserve tap. So there I was desperately trying to restart the bike on the tiny amount of petrol left in the tank, as the bike is a bit tempremental I thought it might just be messing me about. Half an hour later, after dropping my lid and breaking the visor, I am shouting, then pleading with the bike to just work long enough for me to get to some people.

I gave up, sitting on the verge, preparing myself for pushing the bike 20 miles home.

And then suddenly, this old woman pulls up in a VW Jetta, rolls down the window and says "Is it a deisel?"

I reply no, and she says "Well then I have something for you".

She goes to the boot, and pulls out a 5l can of unleaded!

I fill up and ride off.

Now that doesn't sound particularly fairy like, until you think that she never even asked what was wrong with the bike.

No I didn't as I had no cash on me. I was going to ask for her address but then I thought if some random crusty biker on a country road asked you for your address (being a 50 year old WI looking woman) you would run away.
