I've heard a couple of different pronounciations of bikes, what do you call em?

The GSXR, Gick-ser or Jick-ser.

The SRAD, Ess-rad or "Srad" (one word)

any bike with a code type name i.e cbr, zx6r etc i will just pronounce by the letters rather than try and say it as a single word.

I normaly say "Jick-ser", occasionaly CBR becomes "sibber" although thats normaly in reference to the 125, ZXR becomes ZX, R1 cant really be abbrieviated in all honesty, although if its the '98 model it is sometimes just called GOD and everybody instantly drops to their knees at the thought of its sheer awsomeness, it is FACT that if Chuck Norris had a motorbike, it would be a '98 R1.

wow that went off topic quick!

In before GSXR fanboys segue this thread into an argument about pronouncing gixxer.

I'm not a fan of GSXR's, same reason I don't like subaru's. It's not the vehicle, it's the sort of person who rides/drives them. So, when speaking about them in a derogatory way I adopt a chavvy accent and say "Jick-ser" or if I'm feeling particularly hateful, a REALLY chavvy accent and "Gick-ser".
However if just talking normally I call them GSXR.

Edit: I also call my GZ a Jizzy125. It just sounds fun.

Simply g.s.x.r, all those little pet names sound a bit daft imo.

It just conjures up images of chavs sitting in a park with a bottle of white lightning, "oy look at that gixxer over there, lets go tax it innit".

I must admit I seem to pronounce them differently depending on whom I'm talking to.

Did it at a customer once, boss was not happy Embarassed

How would you lot pronounce it?

Not sure about the Mito part, always said Mee-toe. As in Greek Mythos (mee-thos) and Croatian Mit (Meet) are the equivalent. All mean Myth in their respective languages and they are all on the Med, close to each other.

Cagiva is Cah-Jeev-Ah. The "Jeev" part comes from one of the founders names: Giovanni, so logically it would be pronounced as such.
