Hello all....

Is this my paranoia do you reckon or a side effect of Bridgestone....BT010s (I think)....

Riding hard, on warm tyres, on a dry straight road, my back end will slide out before the front wheel even begins to feel light...on a SV650s...seems bizarre.

Also , when I get to a certain point of lean, it feels like the back wheel is trying to slide round a bit...this might just be what it feels like to get past whatever angles my CB5 and BT45s would let me get to, but its really not confidence inspiring...

And the back wheel also loves to lock up, on dusty roads, slight gravel, for no apparent reason, etc...

tyre seems like its got plenty of tread but there seem to be a couple of signs of perishing?

Hi, check wheel alignment, tyre pressures and chain tension & rear suspension preload (if standard)
Pop the bike on a paddock stand and see if the rear wheel spins freely(no stand then ask someone to spin the wheel why you hold it up on the side stand)
rear disc warped?

Could be your tyre pressures.

Is the tyre a nice oval-esque shape or does it look kind of flat. If so the tyres could be squared off.

Hell the locking up could be brake dust in the caliper.

Trouble shoot dear boy.

BT010's haven't been made for a few years now, maybe that tyre is just past it's best. Given that it is showing sings of perishing that is probably the case.

If everything else checks out (pressures, wheel bearings, shock linkage/action, wheel alignment etc. etc.) than I'd suggest that you just need to replace the tyre(s).
