Hi Guys,

Can anyone shed any light on this piece of crap alarm 'system'?

From what I can gather from t'interweb this alarm is a Zhongshan BCS Electronic Manufactory YD-888. Whether or not that makes any difference I don't know!

I need to know where to connect the bloody wires. I've fitted plenty of Datatool and Meta alarms (authorised fitter) but this thing is not making any sense.

The two yellow wires are indicator wires. The red wire is permanent live. The blue one is the remote start (which I have connected and tested OK). I just can't get the immobilisation to work.

Anyone fitted one of these and can you remember how? (Right click, view image).

looking at that diagram the pink and grey wires are your imob loop. they will be normally closed with alarm off and open with alarm on. Its just breaking the ignition circuit.

I've tested the pink and grey wires for continuity with the alarm disabled and enabled. It makes no difference what state the alarm is in. Any more suggestions?

As Vw man says, the pink connects to your IGN/ACC wire off the ignition, which you cut and connect the other end to the grey which completes the immobiliser circuit.

The alarm looks apalling, it's possibly less use than an alarmed disc lock as at least they're harder to remove and silence. If you can't get the thing to work like that then you may aswell open the alarm unit and trace the 2 wires and make sure the relay in the alarm has been wired correctly.
