Hi all,

Bought me an SV1000S in jan and its absolutley awesome!
So much of everything.

Just wondered however, at what revs do or are these meant to idle at?

Mine is 1.5 thou and it seems a little too much listening to the engine.

Anybody know if this is standard?
Looked in the owners manual and i cannot see anything so thought I would ask.

Cheers!

Thanks for that!

I thought that would of been more like it, I will adjust on the weekend.

Any ideas if this could be an issue with something or just its been set like this on purpose?

I have not noticed any issues at all with it and its been well maintained and serviced regularly so suspect it was purposely set like this but unfamiliar bike an all means I always think the worst until I get my hands dirty and have a play. (Usually doing more bad then good! Laughing )

hi
no prob at all its a fraction of a turn from 1000 rpm to 1500 and it could just be the cold weather (dense air etc)

you sound like you know what you are doing, but the haynes manual for my bike says make sure the idle is set when it's upto temperature. Other thing I would note is the choke position, but I have a feeling the SV is FI.

Thumbs Up

Shocked Thats a first! Thumbs Up

Thanks for the info! It is defonately fuel injected and I may look into getting a manual as I think there are a lot of relatively simple tasks which I have paid to have done which I could do pretty easily!
