Not illegal.

There is no law that says you even need a certificate, so why waste your £22.50.

I'll do you a certificate for £20 with free P&P if you're that bothered.. Wink

This appeared not long ago and I made one.

Real:

Home made:

Download at the bottom. Input your own details, print it off, job done.

I am not liable though if you get caught with this fake certificate, you print it out and use it at your own risk Wink

It's not a con. It's payment for a service. Mr. Green

As its already been said you dont have to technicaly have a certificate. But im bored so lets go through what could possibly happen in a worst case scenario if you were to use a fake one.

So lets say you were in an accident and the insurance company are going through your doccuments looking for a way to get out of paying £100000 for the ferrari you just wrote off. Mr. Green

So They find a restriction document that says you live in liverpool yet the bike was restricted all the way down in sussex. Question That seems a bit strange mr insurance man says. So he gives the garage a ring to find out more who then deny all knowlege of it .... Thus leaving you up shit creak without a paddle.
The insurance company refuse to pay out and contact the police. Then the plod knock on your door arrest you for riding an uninsured and unlicenced vehicle and using a fraudulent document.
You loose your licence get a massive fine. You now have to pay to get your bike back as its been used as evidence.

So now thats all over with you sit back in your house thinking fuck me ill never do that again when there is a knock on the door. It seems the ferrari owner is the biggest drug dealer in the area who is a bit pissed not to have his beloved ferrari fixed. He orders his 2 8ft tall henchmen to pin you down while he breaks you knees with a bat and and then beats you on the head with a wooden spoon and informs you your now his new drug mule till the dept is repayed.

Mr. Green Mr. Green I did say worst case scenario Mr. Green Mr. Green

So get your bike restricted via the washer in exhaust method then take a spanner and when you get it home whip out the washer

Then keep the spanner and washer with you and if you are unfortunate enough to be in an accident drag you bloody smashed body over to the manggled remains of the bike whip whats left of the exhaust off and jam the washer back in. PLEASE NOTE this must be done while shouting "move along nothing to see here" so as not to arouse suspicion.

2 things wrong with everything you typed there.

1. You're innocent until proven guilty, so if the police can't dyno the bike because you obliterated the engine, you shouldn't be prosecuted.

2. What bike is restricted to 33bhp through the exhaust? It's the first I've heard of it.

Loads of stuff wrong with that. Confused The file you've uploaded looks nothing like what you've pictured. It's all spaced incorrectly and the font size is tiny. I really can't see that working. Laughing

Erm, it's exactly the same Confused

The only issues is the Fi picture needs some slight adjustment as I got the orientation a bit wrong.

The font is tiny on the real one so I can't really see where you're coming from. There's quite a bit of information to jam onto an A4 sheet of paper.

It would work, unless you had a real one to compare it to.

I'd be more worried about sending all the details of my bike to some dodgy geezer who's selling fake cert's on ebay than being caught without one in the first place. If I had to have one Smile

The insurance company CANNOT by law refuse to pay out for the third party. For example, if I steal your bike and hit the Ferrari, then your insurance company cannot refuse to pay out for the Ferrari, assuming I am at fault. Your insurance company then comes looking to me for reimbursement. If I stole your bike, and it is not insured (not company involved), then the Ferrari driver would have to claim off the MIB.

I have been involved in a case like this when I worked for Saga, but luckily, the stolen car was not at fault, so we claimed for damages or the thief and won. Mr. Green

They won't ask for docs, as insurance is taken upon a contract of utmost good faith. Do they ask you for proof of your age/garage/address?

Mine asked for a copy of my Licence which contains address and D.O.B

Also after a mate binned up i helped him copy all his documents as the insurance company wanted them before pursueing the claim had to send a copy of his Valid Licence & MOT test certificate and his insurance certificate and im presuming if he was on restriction they would of asked for some sort of proof or restriction eg garage contact details.

And what about if you restrict the bike yourself? You going to get them to call you so you can tell them it's restricted.

Yes they can, the policy is suspended the moment that they know. They are required to attend any claims before that date but will pursue costs from the rider.

As well as consider prosecuting for the fraud.
