Hi, I have just refurbed a kmx 125 and put an MOT on it everthing has gone well untill i got it on the road to test it, it seems to splutter and run rough while the revs are under 5k if i ride it hard it pulls through the gears ok it, seems to be only at low revs?

I've stipped the carb twice and it all seems ok it's all set up with the standard jets, i have put a full big one exhaust on it, would this make a difference to the jetting of the carb?
any ideas please?

thanks in advance

Yeah, fitting an after market exhaust means it will need rejetting. I'd have a google round see if you can find the jet sizes you need, if that doesn't help then any decent bike shop should be able to assist you.

I've got no clue at all on jet sizes so I won't even attempt to give advice on that, any friendly bike dealer should be able to assist you with sizes, I'd just give a few places a call.

I seem to have sort of fixed the problem, but something else is not quite right? I checked the air box and there was some screws missing so i cleaned it, resealed it, put new screws in and it seems much better. there is just a slight flat spot at 5k now? any ideas?

cheers

Try lifting / lowering the jet needle clip positon to slightly increase or decrease the effect of the main jet. At a guess I would expect you to have to upject with a free flowing pipe.

Also I'm assuming that you put a new plug in at the same time?
