Went for a ride about half an hour ago and in the last 5 or so mins of the ride, the Chinkmobile started doing little backfires every minute or so. Trying to start it now and I'm on a cycle.

Choke out:
First kick - Nothing
Second kick - fires just a couple of times
Third and fourth kicks - nothing again.

Then with the choke in:
First and second kick - nothing
Third kick, it starts up and is fine for about 7-10 seconds, then after that pulling the throttle makes that noise of bogging it down and then engine cuts out. If I don't touch the throttle it cuts out anyway.
Fourth kick - Nothing again

Only thing that makes it different from any other 125 4T single is that the choke is fecked, so I have to wedge the actual choke no the side of the carb off with a rubber grommet. That and when I got it the disc on the throttle pin was stretched over 2 grooves, so that might be on the wrong one.

Quick answers appreciated as I'm meant to be somewhere at 1:15 (time of posting 11:41)

I reckon it probably was, as earlier it gave one almighty backfire and then started.

Also, whenever I drop off the throttle by even a tiny amount, the whole bike lurches like I've done a really sudden downshift, any ideas?

Meh, It's a stopgap between my 17th bday and my A2 test, which is about 2 months I reckon. Only gonna be used for getting me out of the sticks and into town anyways.

Well by the sounds of it, It's not even getting you out of your drive way at the moment. Laughing

Sounds like the carb is all shitted up. HT lead and plug are probably Chinky shit too. If you are willing to spend a few quid on it, Give it a little service and clean the carb out good.

Run it for a day, and check the plug. Adjust if necessary. And go from there.

See post above, it got me out of my driveway fine in the end, and had been for a few days before, just needed a bit of crap pushing through the carb.

It's got a new plug and plug cap, needs a new HT really but I can't find one for it anywhere. I would love to replace alot of the parts on it (tank with spade marks for example) but just can't find them anywhere Sad

ATM the only thing wrong with it is the wierd drop off on the throttle, and the fact that riding from my house into banbury (5 miles max) is well over 2500 miles according to my tripmeter Laughing

Loose engine mounts, loose chain, loose swingarm?

tightened the chain and checked the swingarm earlier and it still does it, the engine mounts are solid as far as I can see and as far as chinky shit goes.
