I'm guessing the have the protective properties of a cheesecake, abiet without the tastiness.

I had a look around at heated gloves a few weeks ago and it seems you have to be paying pretty decent money for proper heated bike gloves Thumbs Down.

Your right G the gloves protection is crap i ordered mine as i want to see if i can put the element into the top of my bike gloves. Heated grips keep my palms warm but my knuckles and fingertips still get cold.

The innersoles really do take the edge off the chill on the motorway think i might get some for my seat Thumbs Up

A year ago i would of been calling myself a pussy for using heated kit and to grow some balls Laughing well if my balls get as cold as they were the other day the are getting wraped up in heated innersoles haha

I was given some uber expensive Gehring? heated gloves, with attachments for a BMW GS....

Never once used them for their heated properties, but they damn comfy gloves, its just a bit of a pain having a socket sticking out of em all the time

Well i thought for a tenner they would be worth a shout.

And i thought the there were no wires to plug in as the batterys tucked into the gloves?.Plus they are waterproof.

Did you just read the post to moan Cyber maybe you should'nt have bothered reading it.

Batteries in the gloves makes it more likely to break bones if you crash.
And I bet they're not waterproof as far as riding bikes in the rain goes - just read it and it doesn't even claim this, just says 'water resistant'.

It depends if you wear gloves on a motorbike for their protective qualities - ie would you be happy with no gloves in summer? If you don't mind, then they're probably worth a try, but I definitely like my gloves to stop the skin being ripped of my hands if bad things happen.

Did you manage to get the heating element removed ok cyber? I've got some winter gloves that can just about take inner gloves, so quite like the idea of that with it wired to the bike - though I do have muffs and heated grips, so reckon I'm find until it snows again Smile.

Not moaning at you mate you missed Peirre o`Bolloxs post.

Not tryed to remove the element yet gonna give it a go later on when im home Thumbs Up Have been looking at battery connectors like the ones used on battery conditioners. You could put the batterys under the seat and just plug in when your on the bike. Only downside is it means your tethered to the bike which could be bad in a crash.

Should be able to easily enough make some connectors that were pretty 'quick release'. Ideally you'd have them going through the jacket, so you just have a single connector.
Could even try and have it on some kind of coil thing initially, so you've got some movement without getting caught up.

Or you could have the power going through the handle bars with one being live and the other being return, then going through the jacket... just need to remember to turn it off before you push the bike into your garage Smile.

the maplins stuff seems to be a repetative seasonal theme, thats why I suggested "searching".
My OP was to point out that every time the temperature drops, someone posts a thread about the Maplins heated gear, wether it be the heated gloves, heated vest, or cod piece Rolling Eyes
Then typically right on Q someone else asks about replacing the battery power source & wiring it up to the bikes electrics Rolling Eyes

Very clever and a tad cheaper than heated gloves, do the heated gloves have a little dial on them to change temp!
