Found a website posted on another forum that is full of brilliant info if you ever get pulled or speeding fines etc.... Not sure if it has been mentioned before but thought i would post it up anyway.

Read through some of it and i was amazed about the basic facts that a lot of joe public are unaware of. Might help you out of a fine or Points. Think it is something everyone should be aware of that has a vehicle on the road wheather it be a bike or car.

Have a look through it and see what you think, i started to read it and ended up still reading through about 3 quarters of an hour later.

I had a idea the other day;

What if your number plates magically disappeared Rolling Eyes
You phone the police report the indecent claiming they were stolen ect.
Then IF you get a fine asking to name the driver, you have a massive defense in court ?

It sounds to simple maybe I am over looking something?

You could do that but you are lying in court and probably breaking other laws by doing so. So you may get away with it but its still illegal.

Interesting, however as all plate manufacturers are registered and must keep records it may work out pretty expensive paying for a new plate everytime you play this trick Wink

Otherwise your story would fall apart at the first hurdle when the police check where you claim to have bought your new plate.

In addition your plate would be entered into a suspect plate database meaning you would be pulled by every ANPR or obsevent copper.

Mehinks you need a rethink Wink

Surely not having a plate on any vehicle is a crime of strict liability anyway?!

Yes its a offense so you would have to put on a new plate before driving, but when you get caught speeding you just say it wasn't me.

True so you would genuinely need to buy a new plate, that might cost as much as the fine and its not really worth the hassle.
unless you lose your job if you got caught or you would get banned for the points ect.
