i use avg free. works well. never had any problems with it. it does falsely detect some files a malicious when i know they are not. these are rare files that would look suspicious like a flashing tool for my sony ericsson and a keygen etc.
there are a load of others on download.com just have a look around there

In the past I've used Comodo.
Was recommended on here (clicky linky).

I've just downloaded the latest version for the daughter's netbook.
The AV and Firewall are now bundled together (can be installed separately).
I my need to turn off Defense+ in the firewall as it's a bit annoying with pop-ups.

If I get chance I'll post her thoughts on it.

Another one recommended on here in the past has been Avira (clicky downloady).
