Has any one tried this method of lubing chains?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=682LEXdI-80&feature=related
Seems it might be a cleaner way to do it if all the chain lube does is stop chain from rusting.
Any thoughts or should i buy one of the chain oilers from tuturo.

Sorry mate I gave that video a whole minute of my life that I'll never get back...
I'm guessing the guy was using chain wax and a rag because his chain wasn't really dirty and he just wanted a real "show room" finish after his sunday morning ride.
IMHO the best thing to clean a chain is diesel and a toothbrush, leave it to stand for half-an-hour and then rinse off with a hose (not high pressure).
Dry it with a clean rag if you want to, and then lube-up with your lubricant of choice, job done.
The chain lube keeps the chain cool reducing friction between the moving parts.
Friction = heat = distortion = wear. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

Heh if you want to be lazy AND cheap go to a pet shop and buy a hamster water bottle, it only drips if it is sucked at the outlet so dripp a hole in the top.
