been thinking about how reaction times relate to everyday riding. (im a bit bored you see...) so a bit of searching later found this

0.180 was the best I got in one go, but dropped my average each time with shockingly bad ones.

I think it's as much about perception as to when the sheep run, as much as it is pure reaction.

Want a good example of human reaction time? Get someone to hold a pencil by the end and dangle it so the middle is between the tips of your index finger & thumb held an inch apart. See if you can catch the pencil when they let it go.

But how controlled is it...

Anyone can press a button to fire a dart, but can you grab that brake lever in a controlled way, or do you hit it hard and lock it all up

Average of 0.2378 on the first attempt (with a best of 0.189 and a worst of 0.309 of the 5).

Think in a real life situation a half second reaction time is meant to be good, and 2 seconds not unusual.

0.2252 is my best so far. I find it easier to look at the dart and let my peripheral vision do the reacting rather than concentrating on the actual sheep - hows you lot doing it??

i had bob cat - didnt read the exact time. 0.23 i think. and similar in the bullet one. i dont think its a great test though ... it's spotting a problem, knowing one will occur - so you're already more alert. you try playing that game over the space of half an hour not 20 seconds. when at any point in that half an hour a sheep can run, whilst other things go on, have cows and pigs running, horses jumping and tractors ploughing slowly across the screen - now that you're focusing on everything, and a long length of time it will be more of a true test - being sat in comfort in front of your pc wont help though, you need to be on the bike, alert, subconciously knowing there could be a problem, but never knowing when, what, how, or even if there will be a problem. then you can find out how good your reaction time is...but as said, reaction TIME is not as important as to how you can react. react wrongly early enough and it could be worse than reacting well a little later.
