Best shop/place to buy chainsaw oil ?

Any recommendations on where to buy Anti-Fling Chainsaw Oil for use on bike chains ?
Any brands better than others etc ?

I don't know about anti fling but B&Q sell chain saw oil.

I got some Black and Decker chainsaw oil from my local hardware shop. It flings off though, a lot.

I use chainsaws daily and have never heard of anti fling oil for saws the choices are mineral based or bio chain oil both fling very well Smile

i cant see why you would want to use use saw oil for this application

I only use a silicone gel deigned for use on 'bike chains.... Sad

I use B&Q chainsaw oil, think it's the bio-degradable one or something. It goes on well and washes off anything it flings onto easily.

I use it because it's far cheaper even with a shorter fling life, and piece of piss to wash off.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but chainsaws have a constant supply of oil into the chain, so fling isn't really an issue with it, hence it'll fling everywhere and you'll have to apply more of it to a bike chain.

On the back of the container it says something about non fling properties on the stuff i bought from homebase.

I got fed up with it though and bought a scottoiler Thumbs Up

the bottle of Stihll chainsaw oil I have has the same distinct smell and viscosity as the main gearbox oil used in the Lynx helicopter, it is horrible stuff.

This chainsaw oil is designed to be very thick when cold and pretty thin when warm, and has no anti fling properties whatsoever.

I think you'd be just as well off buying the cheapest engine oil you can find or even better using engine oil after a change. Thumbs Up
