R6 soft panniers

Hi all,

Quick question:

Me and my mate are off on our bikes for a few days touring in Wales, only problem is he has no luggage for his R6. I've got an old pair of the Oxford first time panniers that he can use but I'm not sure if they'll fit on the bike (it's the 2008 one) as from memory the back end is pretty insubstantial. Do you think I'll be able to bungee them on and then stick a small tent on top?

Obviously I would "try it and see" but I won't get chance to see him until the morning we set off.

What do you think?
